Determined to keep his animals safe, he brings home a livestock guardian dog named Toby — a calm, capable guardian who quickly proves his worth.

A couple of years later, Morgan adds a second guardian dog, Abby, to share the workload. But when Abby’s instincts take a troubling turn, Morgan is forced to confront an unexpected challenge: protecting his birds not just from predators outside the fence, but from one within it.
